The divorce filing states that "the marriage between the parties is irretrievably broken."
The couple has a prenuptial agreement in place.
Joe Jonas, 34, and Sophie Turner, 27, tied the knot in May 2019 and have two children, aged 3 and 14 months.
A parenting plan is to be established to address custody and visitation arrangements for their children.
The children have been primarily residing with their father in Miami and other U.S. locations.
Reports suggest that the couple had been experiencing marital issues for about six months, with Joe Jonas reportedly seeking divorce lawyers recently.
