Bollywood actor Vikrant Massey has clarified the buzz surrounding his recent Instagram post, which led fans to believe he was retiring from acting. Speaking exclusively to News18 Showsha, the The Sabarmati Report actor reassured his fans that he isn’t stepping away from his career but is simply in need of a well-deserved break.
“I’m not retiring. I’m just burned out and need a long break. I miss home, and my health has also been acting up. People misinterpreted my post,” Vikrant explained.

Addressing the confusion, Vikrant emphasized that acting remains his passion and that he has no plans to quit. However, he admitted to feeling mentally and physically drained and wants to focus on improving his craft during this hiatus.
“Acting is all I know, and it has given me everything I have today. But my health and mental well-being have taken a toll. I just want to take some time off to focus on my family and recalibrate. There’s a sense of monotony I need to break away from. My post wasn’t about quitting. I will return when the time feels right,” he stated.

Vikrant’s late-night Instagram post on Monday left fans speculating about his future in the industry. In his note, he expressed his desire to step back temporarily and spend more time with his family.
“Hello. The last few years and beyond have been phenomenal. I thank each and every one of you for your indelible support. But as I move forward, I realize it’s time to recalibrate and go back home. As a Husband, Father, and a Son. And also as an Actor. Coming 2025, we would meet each other for one last time until time deems right. Last two movies and many years of memories. Thank you again. Forever indebted,” he wrote.
The announcement left fans divided. While many supported his decision, some speculated it might be a publicity stunt. Vikrant has chosen not to address these rumors.

Hours after his announcement, Vikrant made a public appearance at a special screening of The Sabarmati Report in New Delhi. The event, held at the Balyogi Auditorium in the Parliament Complex Library, was attended by several NDA MPs and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Vikrant shared pictures from the event on Instagram, expressing his gratitude for the opportunity. “A day to remember for the rest of my life. Eternally grateful to the Hon. Prime Minister @narendramodi Ji for sparing the time to watch our movie. Your words of appreciation shall never be forgotten,” he captioned the post.
For now, Vikrant plans to wrap up his two upcoming projects before taking his much-needed break. Fans can rest assured that the actor will return when he’s ready to take on new challenges in the industry.
