Taking to Instagram, Kartik posted a heartfelt video, saying, “One of my most memorable scenes from the film. Just a little BTS story, I know how much y’all like those.” The clip offered fans an intimate glimpse into the making of Chandu Champion, with a focus on a powerful moment during the iconic Jana Gana Mana sequence.
Kartik recalled how shooting this scene was a deeply emotional experience. “We shot the first take of ‘Jana Gana Mana,’ the National Anthem, during the race scene where Murikanth wins. When the anthem played, everyone forgot to cut, as everyone got so emotional,” he shared.
The actor described how the weight of the moment hit him hard: “I was crying because he finally won. We began the film with that emotion, and it was incredible to feel it come full circle.”

Kartik also revealed that director Kabir Khan had suggested using glycerin to bring out tears for the scene. However, Kartik was determined to keep the emotions raw and real. “I remember Kabir sir suggesting glycerin for the shot, but I told him, ‘I don’t use glycerin. It doesn’t work for me. Let me get into the moment.’ I was on the wheelchair, on the podium, and it was such a touching moment for me that everyone ended up in happy tears.”
