Going to a top-notch restaurant and not ordering yourself good cocktails is just so unfair. And I am sure there is hardly any person who prefers never to try cocktails. Yeah, I understand people don’t like alcohol, but not matter you like it or not, you have to try cocktails once in your lifetime.
Here goes the list of cocktails you have to try at least once:
1. Bloody Mary
World’s most complex drink, Bloody Mary, consist of Vodka, Tomato Juice and combination of of some spices and flavorings. The only thing that will make you high is vodka.
2. Cosmopolitan
Informally called Cosmo is a cocktail made with vodka, triple sec, cranberry juice, and freshly squeezed or sweetened lime juice. Where vodka make it a little bit bitter, cranberry juice actually sweeten it up with lime juice.
3. Manhattan
It includes whiskey, sweet vermouth, and bitters. It is often stirred and strained into a cocktail glass, where it is garnished with a Maraschino cherry with a stem.
4. Margarita
This one is my personal favorite and tequila, triple sec and lime or lemon juice (you can try other flavors too, lime is not a neccessity), often served with salt on the rim of the glass. It is served shaken with ice (on the rocks), blended with ice (frozen margarita), or without ice (straight up).
5. Dry Martini
One of the best known mixed alcoholic beverage, Martini consist of gin and vermouth. It is garnished with an olive or a lemon twist.
6. Mint Julep
Originated in southern United States, this one consist primarily of bourbon (or some other spirit), water, crushed or shaved ice, and fresh mint.
7. Mojito
Majorly consist of these five items: white rum, sugar (traditionally sugar cane juice), lime juice, soda water, and mint. It is one of the most famous cocktails.
8. Pina Colada
Puerto Rico’s national drink, Pina Colada is sweet cocktail made with rum, coconut cream or coconut milk, and pineapple juice, usually served either blended or shaken with ice. It may be garnished with either a pineapple wedge, a maraschino cherry, or both.
9. Singapore Sling
As the name suggests, it is originated in Singapore. This is gin based cocktail composed of spirit and water, sweetened and flavored.
10. Tequila Sunrise
Stir or shake together tequila and orange juice. Fill a chilled 12 ounce glass with ice cubes; pour in orange juice mixture. Slowly pour in the grenadine, and allow it to settle to the bottom of the glass (be patient). Garnish with a slice of orange, and a maraschino cherry.
