In a recent interview, director Anees Bazmee addressed the departure of Shahid Kapoor from their highly anticipated comedy project, ‘Double Trouble.’ The collaboration had generated significant buzz, but creative differences led to their parting ways.

Bazmee described the script as ‘special’ and expressed his determination to bring it to life with a different lead. He stated, “I will restart working on the same script after I wrap up the shoot of my next film because it’s a great script according to me. I will do it with some other hero.”
Double Trouble: The Project That Could Have Been
Initially set to star Shahid Kapoor in a double role alongside Rashmika Mandanna, the film was titled ‘Double Trouble.’ Discussions were underway to cast another actress in a pivotal role. The project was slated to be produced by Dil Raju.

Anees Bazmee’s Next Venture
As for their individual projects, Anees Bazmee is gearing up to direct the third installment of the ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa’ franchise, following the success of ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2.’ The film is scheduled to commence production in early 2023.

Shahid Kapoor’s Busy Schedule
Meanwhile, Shahid Kapoor has a packed schedule, including Dinesh Vijan’s untitled robot rom-com alongside Kriti Sanon, set to release on December 7, 2023. Additionally, he will begin shooting for Rosshan Andrrews’ thriller drama, ‘Koi Shaq,’ in October. The film is produced by Siddharth Roy Kapur and Zee Studios. Furthermore, Kapoor is reportedly in talks with Sanjay Leela Bhansali for an action-packed entertainer.
