In an exclusive interaction with Pinkvilla, the director of “Prem Ratan Dhan Payo” was posed with a hypothetical scenario: if he had a reset button for life, would he alter anything? To this, the director responded with a grin, “Honestly, I’ve been blessed with everything, and I wouldn’t want a restart. Although, perhaps I would’ve added one or two more films to the seven in 35 years,” followed by a chuckle.
When probed about the infrequency of his film releases, the director explained, “I will create. As a director, it’s a matter of choice. I have to wait for that inner voice to say, ‘This is what needs to be created.’ He went on to add, “Looking at ‘Dono’, I may have wished to make more, but no… this is my world, yet it isn’t entirely me. So, as a director, I must await that unmistakable call to say, ‘Yes, Sooraj, let’s make it.’ That’s just how I operate.”
