Popular for her role in Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Swades‘, actress Gayatri Joshi and her husband, Vikas Oberoi, faced a harrowing car accident during their holiday in Sardinia, Italy.
The incident unfolded during the Sardinia Supercar Tour, a luxurious car parade from Teulada to Olbia. Tragically, Gayatri and Vikas’s Lamborghini collided with a Ferrari and a camper van on a rural road in Sardinia, resulting in an overturn and a series of other vehicles being involved.
Vikas Oberoi’s manager has assured that the couple is currently in stable condition. Regrettably, the Ferrari caught fire, leading to the heartbreaking loss of its occupants, Melissa Krautli, 63, and Markus Krautli, 67, both of Swiss nationality.

Gayatri Joshi, originally from Nagpur, Maharashtra, initially began her career as a video jockey before setting her sights on clinching the Femina Miss India International title in 2000. This paved the way for her representation of India at Miss International 2000.
Her standout performance came in Ashutosh Gowariker’s 2004 directorial ‘Swades’ opposite Shah Rukh Khan, a film centered around an NRI NASA engineer’s soul-searching journey back to his Indian roots. The movie garnered widespread acclaim, with Gayatri Joshi receiving commendation for her nuanced portrayal.
In 2005, she entered matrimonial ties with businessman Vikas Oberoi. In addition to her acting pursuits, Gayatri has also made waves as an advertising model and featured in several notable music videos, including Hans Raj Hans’ ‘Jhanjaria’ and Jagjit Singh’s ‘Kaghaz Ki Kashti’.
