In an exclusive reveal, Amazon MGM Studios and Seven Bucks Productions are gearing up for a testosterone-packed Christmas as they announce the global theatrical release of the epic action comedy, Red One, in November 2024.
Following the recent trend of Amazon MGM’s theatrical releases, such as Air and Saltburn, Red One is set to have a dedicated theatrical window before making its way to its home on Prime Video.

By strategically choosing November 15, 2024 for the theatrical release, Amazon MGM Studios aims to capitalize on the traditionally lucrative holiday corridor leading up to Thanksgiving. Noteworthy competitors on the same release date include Warner Bros.’ Robert De Niro starrer, “Alto Knights,” and Lionsgate and Kingdom Story’s “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever.” Early test screenings for Red One reportedly received overwhelmingly positive scores.
The four-quadrant Red One, based on an original story by Seven Bucks President of Production, Hiram Garcia, has Dwayne Johnson sharing his excitement on Instagram, describing it as
“a big, fun, action-packed and fresh new take on Christmas,” blending elements of JUMANJI, MIRACLE ON 34TH ST, HOBBS & SHAW, and a touch of HARRY POTTER, topped with Johnson’s all-time favorite, “IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE.”

The production is a collaborative effort between Seven Bucks Productions’ Hiram Garcia, Johnson, and Dany Garcia, Chris Morgan Productions’ Chris Morgan, and The Detective Agency’s Jake Kasdan and Melvin Mar. Executive producers include Barry Waldman, and Ainsley Davies from Chris Morgan Productions, along with John Wildermuth and Sky Salem Robinson from The Detective Agency. Warner Bros. Pictures will handle international distribution as part of its agreement with Amazon MGM Studios.
