“Gadar 2 is totally rocking the box office! Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel’s film, released on August 11, is about to hit the massive Rs 400 crore mark in India. On its second Monday (August 21), it pulled in a cool Rs 14 crore, according to trade portal Sacnilk.
Directed by Anil Sharma, Gadar 2 made a stunning Rs 284.63 crore in its very first week at the box office. And hold onto your seats, because it followed up with Rs 20.50 crore on the second Friday, Rs 31.07 crore on Saturday, Rs 38.90 crore on Sunday, and an estimated Rs 14 crore on the second Monday.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh exclaimed on X, “#Gadar2 is on fire, making history in its second weekend! Taran Adarsh also revealed that the film has absolutely smashed the second-weekend collections of the top five Hindi films by a considerable margin. And those top five films? They’re no small players: Pathaan, Baahubali 2, KGF 2, Dangal, and Sanju.
Switching gears to ‘OMG 2’, the film starring Akshay Kumar and Pankaj Tripathi is doing quite well at the box office, even though it doesn’t match Sunny Deol’s flick. On August 21 (Day 11), the film managed to pull in Rs 3.60 crore in India. That’s pushed its total collection to Rs 117.27 crore.
During its first week, the Akshay Kumar film earned a solid Rs 85.05 crore. But the excitement didn’t stop there – ‘OMG 2’ brought in Rs 6.03 crore on the second Friday, Rs 10.53 crore on Saturday, Rs 12.06 crore on Sunday, and around Rs 3.60 crore on Monday.
