Nyong’o’s selection was praised by the festival directors, who highlighted her cinematic versatility, ability to engage diverse audiences, and consistent portrayal of recognizable characters. The Mexican-born artist expressed deep honor in serving as the jury president and eagerly anticipates celebrating the exceptional work of filmmakers worldwide.
Beyond her acting prowess, Nyong’o has also ventured into directing, and producing, and is the author of a children’s book titled “Sulwe.” She clinched the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress in 2014 for her compelling role in “12 Years A Slave.”
