The Indian Cricket Team geared up for the first match of the T20 series against Afghanistan, starting January 11th at the IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali. In a video shared by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on social media, Head Coach Rahul Dravid and the players were seen undergoing rigorous practice sessions, including batting drills and bowling exercises. This IND Vs AFG: T20 series marks Team India’s final appearance before the T20 World Cup 2024.
IND Vs AFG T20 Series: Virat Kohli To Skip First Match!
While the team prepares for the series, Indian skipper Virat Kohli will miss the first T20 match due to personal reasons, as confirmed by Coach Rahul Dravid in a pre-match press conference.

Notably, Rohit Sharma will make his return to T20 Internationals after a substantial hiatus. The last T20 he played was in November 2022 during the T20 World Cup semi-final against England.

The T20 series, consisting of three matches, will continue with the second game on January 14th at Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore, followed by the third match on January 17th at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
