Kannappa is a historical drama based on the life of the 8th-century warrior saint Kannappa Nayanar, who is revered as a devotee of Lord Shiva. The film is said to be a visual spectacle with Prabhas playing a pivotal role.

This will be Prabhas’s third film in which he will be playing a god. He previously played Lord Rama in Adipurush and will also be seen as Lord Shiva in the upcoming film Kalki 2898 AD.
