Om Raut’s film ‘Adipurush’ is currently facing challenges at the box office due to criticism and backlash over its subpar special effects and portrayal of the epic Ramayana. Despite crossing the Rs 250 crore mark in India, the movie’s box office collection is on a decline.
Box Office Collection of Adipurush:
As per early estimates from the website Sacnilk, ‘Adipurush’ collected Rs 5.50 crore on its seventh day. The movie’s collection on the sixth day was Rs 7.25 crore, which was approximately 32 percent lower than the fifth day. The total collection of the film now stands at Rs 260.55 crore.
Recently, ‘Adipurush’ faced a ban in Nepal due to backlash over dialogue in the film. However, the Nepal court has now lifted the ban on Hindi films, including ‘Adipurush’, instructing the authorities not to halt the screening of any film approved by the country’s censor board. The controversial dialogue in ‘Adipurush’ referred to Sita as the daughter of India, which resulted in the ban on all Hindi films in Nepal. According to the Ramayana, Sita was born in Nepal’s Janakpur.
