Teddy Hart, whose real name is Edward Annis, was arrested in Titusville, Florida, on Friday. Police charged him with two felony drug possession offenses, involving MDMA ecstasy and a controlled substance without a prescription.
The arrest occurred after the Titusville Police Department pulled him over around midnight. They alleged that he was speeding and ran a red light while driving a rental car. Police officers detected the smell of marijuana in his car, which led them to search the vehicle. They reportedly found pills and powder during the search, along with vials containing two types of anabolic steroids.
Teddy Hart, at 43 years old, was taken into custody but released the following day. He also received a civil traffic citation for not stopping at a red signal.
It’s worth noting that Edward Annis comes from the famous Hart wrestling family, known for legends like Bret and Owen Hart, and Stu Hart. He started his wrestling career early, signing a WWE developmental contract in 1998, though it didn’t last long. He had another stint with WWE in 2005 but was released again in 2006 after a few matches.
Apart from WWE, Teddy Hart has performed in other major wrestling companies like Ring of Honor, NWA Total Nonstop Action, Major League Wrestling, and Triple-A.
