There are rumors that the Centre may propose renaming India as Bharat during the upcoming Parliament session from September 18–22. Amitabh Bachchan expressed his support for the idea by saying “Bharat Mata ki Jai” on social media.

This call for renaming India as Bharat is not new; it was raised in the Parliament earlier this year by BJP Rajya Sabha MP Naresh Bansal. Other MPs, like Harnath Singh Yadav, have also supported the change, citing that “Bharat” better represents Indian culture. Yadav expressed the desire for a constitutional amendment to officially replace “India” with “Bharat.”
