Black Myth: Wukong: The Hardest Bosses You’ll Face

Black Myth: Wukong is a game packed with exciting features, from a wide range of customization options to a richly detailed world, all deeply rooted in mythology. But let’s be honest, what stands out are the boss battles. With so many formidable foes scattered throughout the game, it’s a surprise when you go a while without facing one. But which bosses truly stand out as the toughest?

1. Buddha’s Right Hand (Chapter 4)

Buddha's Right Hand (Chapter 4) Hardest Boss in Black Myth Wukong Game

While not the most visually spectacular encounter, Buddha’s Right Hand is one of the more memorable bosses you’ll face. It starts off as a strange hand reaching down from the top of a narrow cave. You’ll need to dodge its attacks while getting close enough to land some hits.

But just when you think you’ve got it figured out, the hand transforms into a grotesque bug with a tail shaped like a hand. The difficulty ramps up, but the thrill of the reveal makes it worth the challenge. Once defeated, this boss even serves a useful purpose later in the game.

2. Black Bear Guai (Chapter 1)

The final boss encounters in Black Myth: Wukong are some of the most epic in the genre, and this standard is set right from the start with Black Bear Guai. After mastering the Cloud Step technique, you’ll reach the temple at the mountain’s peak relatively unscathed, but things get intense when the fiery Black Bear Guai appears.

While not as flashy as some later bosses, Black Bear Guai is a serious threat and provides a perfect challenge to close out the first chapter of your adventure.

3. Tiger Vanguard (Chapter 2)

Tiger Vanguard (Chapter 2) Hardest Boss in Black Myth Wukong Game

One of the most aggressive early-game enemies is the Tiger Vanguard. This boss is a menacing figure lounging in a pool of what looks like waist-deep blood. But once he’s on his feet, he triggers one of the most frantic and fast-paced fights in the game.

Tiger Vanguard’s varied moveset and lightning-fast attacks force you to learn his patterns to survive. Beating him feels incredibly rewarding, especially when you earn a new spell, but he remains one of the trickiest bosses to conquer.

4. Whiteclad Noble (Chapter 1)

Whiteclad Noble (Chapter 1) Dangerous Boss in Black Myth Wukong Game

There’s nothing more intimidating than a boss with a second health bar, and in Black Myth: Wukong, that title goes to the Whiteclad Noble. Not only does he take twice as long to defeat, but his second form is also significantly harder to hit as he emerges from the water.

At this point in the game, there’s only so much grinding you can do to improve, making the Whiteclad Noble a tough roadblock early on.

5. Fuban (Chapter 2)

At the end of a secret quest in Chapter 2, you’ll find yourself in a massive desert that practically screams “boss fight.” Here, you’ll face Fuban, a gigantic scarab beetle.

Fortunately, this beast isn’t too difficult to beat, especially with the Yellow Wind Sage assisting in the latter half of the fight. The real highlight of this battle is its sheer spectacle and scale, making it one of the most memorable encounters in the game.

6. Erlang The Sacred Divinity (Chapter 6)

One of the toughest challenges in the game’s final hours is facing Erlang the Sacred Divinity, a character you may recognize from earlier in the game.

As Sun Wukong’s three-eyed rival, Erlang is as challenging as you’d expect. This boss fight is a true test of everything you’ve learned throughout the game, making it one of the most satisfying battles to complete.

7. Duskveil (Chapter 4)

The secret bosses in Black Myth: Wukong are some of the most challenging and fun to defeat. One of the more unsettling bosses is Duskveil.

What makes this fight interesting is that if you face Duskveil before defeating Scorpionlord, the two will battle each other, allowing you to sit back and watch until Duskveil emerges victorious. Of course, you’ll still have to deal with Duskveil’s second health bar, but watching two bosses fight each other is an experience unlike any other.

8. Yellowbrow (Chapter 3)

Hardest Boss in Black Myth Wukong Game - Yellowbrow (Chapter 3)

One of the most cinematic and creative boss battles in Black Myth: Wukong is with Yellowbrow, the final boss of Chapter 3. This tricky interloper puts you through a multi-stage marathon that even includes a brief reunion with Zhu Bajie during a Macaque Chief intermission.

The final phase is undeniably the hardest, with limited opportunities to break Yellowbrow’s golden immunity while avoiding the shock bane from accumulating. This fight will push you to your limits, but it’s a fantastic way to close out the third chapter.
