In a remarkable turn of events, Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s latest venture, “Animal,” starring Ranbir Kapoor, has achieved unparalleled success at the box office despite receiving mixed to negative reviews. On its third day, the action-packed film not only exceeded the three-day collection of Siddharth Anand’s “Pathaan,” featuring Shah Rukh Khan, but also made its mark as the second film of the year, following “Jawan,” to enter the Rs 200 crore club in India and the Rs 350 crore club worldwide within just three days.

According to early estimates by industry tracker Sacnilk, “Animal” garnered an impressive Rs 72.50 crore on its third day in the domestic market, marking an 8.5% increase in daily box office earnings compared to the previous day. The film’s three-day domestic net collection reached Rs 202.57 crore, narrowly trailing “Jawan’s” Rs 206.06 crore and surpassing “Pathaan’s” Rs 166.75 crore. Trade analyst Ramesh Bala reported that “Animal’s” worldwide gross collection stands at a staggering Rs 360 crore, solidifying its position as a major box office contender.

“For the 3-day opening weekend, #Animal grosses a whopping ₹ 360 Crs at the WW Box office,” tweeted Ramesh Bala. While “Jawan,” the highest earner this year, made Rs 384.6 crore in the first three days, and “Pathaan” grossed Rs 313 crores, “Animal” has certainly made a significant impact in the competitive box office landscape.

On its first Sunday, “Animal” surpassed “Pathaan” with a domestic nett collection of Rs 72.50 crore, although it fell short of “Jawan’s” record of Rs 80.1 crore. The film’s overall occupancy in the Hindi market on Sunday reached an impressive 79.05%, with percentages rising from 65.53% in the morning shows to 86.42% during the evening screenings.

Despite its box office success, “Animal” has faced criticism for its depiction of misogyny, violence, and vulgarity. The film’s controversial content has sparked discussions among the audience, adding a layer of scrutiny to its triumph at the box office.
