PM Modi Asks Bumrah: How Do You Handle Stress? Jasprit Bumrah Responds…

On Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with the players of the Indian team that won the T20I World Cup. Among those present were coach Rahul Dravid, captain Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, and other team members. During the meeting, PM Modi had individual conversations with each player. He posed an interesting question to India’s star pacer Jasprit Bumrah, asking him how he manages stress.

In response, Jasprit Bumrah said he always thinks about performing well as a team. He also mentioned a humorous anecdote, saying that parathas and idlis were unavailable in the West Indies.

Bumrah shared more insights during his conversation with PM Modi, stating that he often bowls during challenging times and has to deliver tough overs. PM Modi, reflecting on his own experience as a cricket fan, particularly since the 1990s, asked Bumrah how he handles the pressure of the final overs. Bumrah replied, “I remind myself that if we lose, I’ll have to face the public. I focus on what I did well on good days and concentrate on performing well as a team.” He reiterated that finding familiar Indian foods like parathas and idlis was a challenge in the West Indies.
